Flores island is three times bigger than Bali. It lays on 354 KM long and 66 KM wide which 13.540 KM2 in total. I has 11 great volcanoes that presents thousands of spectacle landscapes and fertile lands. The local people speaks more than 6 mother tongue language, hundreds dialects, and many different cultures and believe system. By this tour, Flores Magnifique will let you discover Flores island more than 80%. We will take you to the magnificent walks on crater lakes, snorkel in beauty reefs, witness closer to millions flying foxes, sinking on warm hot spring river, and dive deeper on local lives by visiting villages.
Itinerary Flores Highlight Adventure
Day 1 : Airport Maumere-Hotel
Our driver and English speaking guide will pick you up at Maumere Airport. Having lunch in Maumere then driving few minutes to Coconot Garden Beach Resort where you will have your dinner and stay overnight. During the afternoon, you can spend your time by chilling on the beach or playing some canoes.
Day 2 : Island Hopping
The tour will start in the morning after breakfast. Your guide will pick you up then drive to Nangahale harbour. It takes 30 minutes to arrive in Pangga Batang Island for your first snorkelling activity. After that, doing another snorkelling into tsunami underwater fault that happened in 1992. Lunch and the last snorkelling will be in Babi Island.
Day 3 : Maumere-Moni
After breakfast, you will start the day by visiting Wuring Village. It is a fisherman village which build their house upon the water. That’s why they also call it Floating Village. Here, you can walk around on their bamboo bridge and do some interaction with the local people. From here, you will be guided to Lepo Lorun Community where you can witness how the locals weaving their sarong in traditional way. You will see the materials and also the process. Then, before hotel, you will take two ours driving to Koka Beach, the place you having lunch, swimming, or just chilling in the beach. After that, heading up to Moni Village for overnight and dinner in Paradiso Hotel or other same standard accomodation.
Day 4 : Moni - Riung
You will wake up at 4 am to reach the parking area of Kelimutu and then walk for about 30 minutes to the peak (1,600 m abl). From the peak of the mountain, you will witness the sunrise with a view of the coloured lakes in front of it. After Kelimutu, go back to Hotel for shower and breakfast, then leave Moni for Riung. There will be some stops on the way, Wologai traditional village of Lio tribes and Bung Karno’s House, a place where he was exiled from 1934-1938. After that, you will make a stop at Blue Stone Beach then continuing to Riung for dinner and overnight at Nirvana Bungalows or same standard accommodation .
Day 5 : Island Hoping
After breakfast, you will be transfered to the wooden peer and doing a full day sea tour. At first, you will visit Kalong Island to see millions of fruit bats hanging on mangrove trees. After that, doing two or more times snorkeling in Riung 17 Islands Marine Park. A barbecue lunch will be served in beach. If there is steal enough time, you can enjoy the sunset in Watu Mitong hill.
Day 6 : Riung - Bajawa
After breakfast, leave Riung for Bajawa. Few kilo metres before Bajawa, you will visit Ogi Waterfall. It has 80 metre high with a quite big water scale. Before enjoying its beautiful panorama, you will take 10 minutes walking. 30 minutes from this waterfall, you will drive to Wolobobo View point, a top point that you can see a scenic view of Inerie volcano and some village of Ngada tribes in the valley area. From here you will be dropped to hotel Virgo Hotel or the same standard accomodation for dinner and overnight.
Day 7 : Explore Bajawa
You will start the day by visiting Bena Village. It is considered as one of the most attractive village in Flores. Beside its photo genic appearance, here you can directly see how the local people living their lives. Farming, weaving, cooking, praying, etc. From here, you will start a 5 KM walking to Tololela and Gurusina Village. The trek is exactly on the foot part of Inerie volcano mountain. Along the track you will see various local plantation like bamboo, cloves, candle nut, coconut, coffee, cacao, etc. After trekking, you will take car and driving to Malanage hot spring. It is exactly a hot water on the river. Its very nice to soak and relax in river-pool. In the afternoon, you will drive back to hotel for dinner and overnight
Day 8 : Bajawa - Ruteng
Before Ruteng, you will visit Aimere to see the local-traditional alcohol distillation. More or less than two hours after Aimere, you will see a beautiful lake Ranamese. If there is more time, you can do a short trekking around the lake. Dinner and stay overnight in Ruteng in Ara Garden Inn Hotel or same standard accomodation.
Day 9 : Explore Ruteng
In the morning after breakfast, you will do a ricefield and coffee agro-trekking to see the coffee seeds, plantation, and the process of the final powder packaging in Carep village. The trekking itself will take more or less than two hours. After that, drive to Bangka Tuke, a traditional village of Manggarai tribes. Here you will walk around the village and have a chance to get inside the traditional house to see the internal architecture of the house and also some local instruments. From here, you will visit one of the biggest traditional market in Flores named Pasar Inpres Ruteng. In this market, local people can buy fresh foot and beverage, clothes, and local handicraft. Then, transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 10 : Ruteng - Denge
In the morning after breakfast, you leave Ruteng for Denge village. The first stop will be in Cunca Lega waterfall. It is a two storey waterfall with 80 metres high for each part. Before enjoying is beautiful panorama, you will take 20 minutes walking in the middle of local’s garden. From here, you will go to see the biggest spider webbed rice field in the world. In Local words, it is called Lingko-Lodok. It is how Manggarai Tribes sharing their land in the past. From here, you will drive more or less than 3 hours to Denge village for dinner and overnight in Waerebo Lodge or same standard accomodation.
Day 11 : Denge - Waerebo
After breakfast, you will chek out from hotel and go to Waerebo village in mountains, 1600 metre above sea level. The village and so do the people is bit far from modern life that can be considered as a close reflection of Manggarai tribes life in the past.
Before trekking, due to a very small road, you will ride a local motor bike taxi for five KM to the starting point called Wae Lomba. From Wae Lomba you will walk up hill for about 2,5 KM and downhill for about 2,5 KM. The walking is in the middle of tropical rain forest. All a long the trekking, you will enjoy a lot of birds chirping. Its usually take less than three hours to reach the village. There will be a greeting ceremony before you start activity in the village like taking pictures or witness the how locals living their life. You will have dinner and overnight in guest house.
Day 12 : Waerebo - Labuan Bajo
In the morning after explore around the village, you will go down to Denge village for continuing drive to Labuan Bajo. Due to the long driving, you will have Some stops for photo and coffee break. Dinner and stay overnight in Labuan Bajo in Puri Sari Beach Hotel or same standard accommodation. Tour ends.
