Located on the top of a mountain, Waerebo is an old-type of Manggarai tribes village. Here you will closely interact with the local people and see their daily activity like weaving, gardening, or by a chance experience their traditional ceremonies. Furthermore, two hours hiking up to the village is another beautiful vibes. Walking in the middle of rain forest mountain and enjoying birds chirping along the way. Fifty kilometres from Waerebo Village, Liang Bua Cave, home of Homo Floresiensis which is also so called the hobbit is waiting you to know his original life history.
Itinerary Waerebo & Hobbit Cave Tour
Day 1 : Labuan Bajo - Waerebo Village
Our driver and English speaking guide will pick you up at Labuan Bajo, then driving more or less than 3 hours to reach Waerebo village hike starting point. Then, traveller will do a 2 hours hiking to reach the village. In the afternoon, you can explore around the village to see locals activity. Dinner and stay in Waerebo guesthouse.
Day 2 : Waerebo Village - Ruteng
After breakfast, traveller will explore the morning activity around the village then hike down to Denge village where our driver pick you up and drive to Ruteng town. On the way, you will visit Spider Rice Field, a old way of Manggari people sharing their land. Then after lunch, you will do a rice field trekking in Ruteng town. Overnight in Ara Garden Inn or the same standard hotel.
Day 3 : Ruteng - Labuan Bajo
After breakfast, drive to Liang Bua to see the home of Homo Floresiensis. Here you will welcome by a short welcome ceremony by the locals then explore the cave and museum. From Liang Bua, you will drive back to Labuan Bajo. Tour ends.
